.::THE RUNWAY::.

aaaah un-cali sari (new name will make sense at the end) and ranch hand filet were not too refreshed but extremely amused thanks to.......

L.A started out cold as hell although since everything was pre-project runway and pre-10 hour lines…everything couldn't even faze us and we could careless. Anyways we get to the Hyatt in Century City and…NOTHING. Seriously we get there and no one is there. They said doors would open the next morning at 7AM and we figure by the time we get there its around midnight anyway…you would think fools would be lining up. it was a weird moment to say the least but we ended up getting the scoop from various workers at the hotel. With this new found glory we really didn't want to be tempted and have a very valid excuse to just fuck it and find the folks downtown to resume st patricks day festivities. so we just stayed at a motel (yeah we were coo off the $275 night at the hyatt) about 5 blocks away, which note to self: is nowhere near the same as 5 blocks away frisco steez. (this will make sense in about 2 more paragraphs)

we of course "accidentally" sleep in while deliriously calling the hotel every couple of hours to see if the line has emerged. so the website told us to bring a clothing rack which sari gladly purchased for very cheap and it was probably the most pointless thing we could have brought. anyways we decide to set up the rack put all our shit on it and walk the 5 blocks to the hyatt, which in l.a. really means big ass roads that look like freeways. something else we should have noted: clothing racks are not meant for off-roading.

this kept happening every 10 feet

and the wheel broke about 10 minutes into the walk

in the background you will see the beginning of the line and i think we were the only ones who walked to the audition. the entire line saw us approaching because you will also notice that there’s a fat ass hill we had to walk down to reach the line/hotel. so basically we looked completely ridiculous and everyone watched us approaching and stopping every 10 feet to fix the rack.

well anyways as soon as we get there, we don’t waste time to set up the lawn chairs

but then it gets hella cold and i think fools were pissed at our attempts to be mad comfortable. jihan rolls through and so the 10-hour line begins.

sari was #91 in line out of ????

the hours proceed to finally getting into the hotel. to then having to wait to go downstairs of the hotel. then having to wait to enter the pre-screening room. which then lead to the screening room. which then lead to the room where you were mic'd. which finally lead to santino and mr.gunn.

project runway is no joke. we waited 10 hours for 10 seconds (well a little longer than that but it was less than a minute) after being called too hippie for project runway recognizable duo didn’t make the cut. it was a fucking surreal day and all i know is thank god we got it over in one day. we felt like we were in another world seriously. no one tries to say too much and NO ONE was even going to let you sneak a peak at his or her garments. but all these random folks surrounded you all fucking day. and the line doesn’t move so you’re around EVERYONE.

thank god all it took was food to be back into the real world. oh and beer. at this point if we stopped we would pass out so the only other choice we had (obviously) was to party hard. and i mean we were going to have to try hard to party...which by the way wasn’t too hard when you can relinquish in the fact of being in a semi-unfamiliar place where NO ONE knows your name and you can act like a fool yet stare at everyone for observational pleasure.
